Update on MYP. Picked up some Gemini wheels months ago and then powder coated them matte black. So much more comfortable and cheaper for tires replacement. I just run taller tires on my Uber turbine 295/40/21 rear and 275/40/21 in the front made the car ride so much better And it looks so aggressive.Its all about the vavle, then materials. The Ohlins DFV is a better valve, and costlier materials, however the KW valve ain't bad and their coils will last 10x longer in salty conditions. Some distinction, Ohlins is a dual height adjustable but technically it cannot use the full travel because of the vehicles battery.In my MYP with snow tires, I can get moving pretty darn quickly, but stopping and especially turning is not quite as easy in the snow. Turning especially. Even with snow tires you really need to scrub a lot of speed before making a turn on the slick stuff. ... To be honest the acceleration boost is “so sufficient” (to put it mildly) that I am 100% happy with this combo - the acceleration differences versus the MYP are minimal at this point (see bottom table below). The MYP is about as quick as Tesla is allowing before creating a warranty issue for them. On Las Vegas to So Cal run sometimes I have to stop at a supercharger sooner than I used to with stock set up. So I may need to make a decision soon, so I can then wait a few more months. :-) Speed wise, the difference in 0-60 times between MYP and MYLR with accel boost is ~0.5 seconds. Something to consider.
