Indianapolis, IN. Mar 7, 2005. #1. OK here is the fundamental basics for monitoring the Mississippi Highway Safety Patrol-MHP. Primarily MHP uses an very old VHF Lo Band radio system. This is a 3 pair system used in simplex mode, with the pairs divided among the 9 districts. Pair 1: 42.0800 MHz- Dispatch for Districts 3, 6, and 9.The highway patrol uses a duplex channel system, but not in a repeater fashion. It is setup in the same way as the California Highway Patrol, but designates channels numbers in a different way. For instance, Channel 1 and Channel 2 are paired with each other.
