Ds2 best pve weapons.
The Gyrm Axe is both the slowest and hardest hitting. The Bandit Axe has no reach and is good in spite of this. I don't care for the moveset of most of the hammers but they're all fine. My personal favorite is the Craftsman's Hammer and it has easily the best moveset in the class. The only strength spear is the Gargoyle Bident.
If you are asking for PVE anything you like works. Ashen Warrior Sword (Low Durability), Fume Sword, Sunlight Sword (You have Faith so check it.) and Longsword are the best straight swords to check first. Chloranthy is always nice, Old Leo ring is a good supplement to the Rapier. And if you are leveling Dex grabbing the Heide Spear for PvE is a no-brainer. Rapier and Heide Spear are not great for dealing with groups though, so I would keep either a long sword or a bastard sword handy, something with a good horizontal swing. 1.

Slash is the weakest form of damage IIRC, but slash weapons are usually faster and lighter than the heavy-hitting strike weapons. My go-to's for a "Quality Build" (all weapons, no fancy shit) are a slash/thrust weapon, a slow-but-hard-hitting weapon, and a spear/rapier for narrow corridors and/or bosses.
The best weapon is the one you like using the most. Every weapon has pros and cons and it's really rare to be able to say that one weapon is always going to be better than another in every situation. Best thing you can do is experiment and see what you like. Some suggestions: Bandit Axe (also very good for PVE) Greatsword (Capital G)
