Confirm you are using the correct tool. Your Delta Faucet product came with a hex key, also called Allen wrench. Delta Faucet handles use a hex key of either 3/32" for smaller handles or two handle sets; or 1/8" for single handles. If the set screw is stripped, try a rubber band on the end of the Allen key. It may fill the gap enough to get a grip.
Hi, Robert! Thank you for your question. To remove the bonnet assembly fro the Delta Monitor 134900-A Tub and Shower Faucet, first turn the water off at the shut off valve. Remove the set screw with a 1/8" Allen wrench to remove the handle assembly. Remove the sleeve assembly and unscrew the bonnet nut counterclockwise from the valve body.So, we just purchased new delta faucets and shower controls for 4 bathrooms. the house was built in 2003, do i have to tear out all the old valves and replace with the new ones? ...
