Removing the glove compartment, ECU and ECU bracket accesses the air inlet servo. Same thing happened here. Everything was working fine until I replaced the battery. After that the air only blew from the defrost and floor vents. I disconnected the battery (no help), tried the hvac reset (no help), I finally had to replace the mode actuator. Seems like this is a cronic problem for GM, like everything else.

It sounds like the HVAC system lost its calibration. Please remove the HVAC1 and HVAC8 fuses in the rear fuse block below the left rear seat. And turn the key on for two minutes, then turn the key off and replace the fuses then start the car and let sit for two more minutes and you should be all set.
