Trailersaver 5th wheel hitch.
The air ride pin box will be an improvement, and so would the hitch. The advantage to the hitch is that if you traded trailers, you would not have to be sure the pin box will interchange. We bought the air ride pin box first and it helped a lot. I then bought the Trailersaver TS3 hitch and use them both together.

Of those 2 options the B&W is my choice. Solid, well-built, easy to hitch, easy to unhitch, and American made with great customer service. But the best fifth wheel hitch is the Trailersaver. It's a full air ride hitch and performs amazingly. My least favorite was my Andersen Ultimate Fifth Wheel Connection.

So, the less your pin weighs, the less air pressure in the bags. One shouldn't be stiffer than another. My hitch is rated to 20k, 4.5k pin; my trailer has around 2k on the pin and it rides perfectly. If I inflate above the ride line, the hitch stiffens. In my opinion, the TS3 is Trailer Saver's superior hitch.
