Today the high exhaust temp light came on and the soot percentage read 78%. I went through the process of putting the tractor in a parked regen.Likely they don't get as many regens because they actually "work" the machine and don't build up that much soot. If you just putz around on the tractor, keep an eye on the soot level. When it gets above 70%, have something extra to do. When it goes into regen, go work it. Above this to full throttle pushes out white smoke. and runs rough, just to check ran the 5ft brush hog at 1600 rpm , travelling very slowly, to put load on the engine.Everything is as it should be. Regen does not care about engine hours or anything else just Sooth level in the DPF. It accumulates much faster when engine is under light or not optimal loads. High exhaust temperature light comes on slightly later after starting because regen needs that higher temperature and its preferable to have engine heated up.If you are done operating it and the light is still on, leave the tractor running a little above idle (1200 rpm or so)to allow it to finish the process. Depending on the amount of cleaning it needs to do it can take a few hours.
