I usually carry 3 hawk helium climbing sticks with me. I am looking for ways to cut weight since I am often doing alot more hiking than I am actually hunting in some cases. The Heliums have 2 pegs on each step, so to speak, One on each side. so 6 pegs on each climbing stick.

Luckily or unluckily, I still have a tag to use so I’ll be hunting with the Hawk Helium HSP tonight for its maiden voyage. Couple of things to note after install, it’s a little wobbly on top of the helium 30’ stick. The slide pins that come with should be replaced with longer screws. I don’t currently have any laying around.

Nov 2, 2017. #1. Just got a set and thinking of cutting them down and using a 3 step aider on each. My question is about where to cut them down. Considering cutting them just below the middle step at the bottom of that solid section just before the slot cut out begin again. My initial plan was to cut them so the steps are at roughly 20” apart.I've got a set of the large helium sticks.
