Ah..so the gift cards are being given out by a third party. The ones that used to be issued by Verizon for the BYOD promo used to have a 12 month lock-in period when they realized people weren't sticking around for as long as Verizon would like. The BYOD gift card promo was then changed over to its current avatar of 36 month bill credits.
