At the present time, the Boox Note Air 2 Plus still deserves its place in the market. It is one of a few e-ink tablets that were released circa 2021 that are still top products in 2023 (the others being the ultra-thin and beautifully-designed reMarkable 2, and the Supernote A5 X with it’s well-developed and innovative hardware/software).

I’m torn because based on the reviews it seems like the Boox is better in general for reading/managing academic PDFs, but the Supernote is better in general for ease of use, organization, and the general writing experience. I don’t have a ton of money, so I would ideally like this device for both purposes.

The Boox works faster. With the RM2 it takes ages to open up any large pdfs or epubs. In the RM2 you don't have bookmarks, you can't see the notes or markings on an index.
