Irregular gestational sac at 7 weeks with heartbeat.
I had an irregular shaped gestational sac on my first scan for my first pregnancy. Sadly the doctor doing the scan said that they generally associated this with increased chance of miscarriage. The following week I was rescanned and the sac had actually become a regular shape, but there was still no heartbeat/fetal pole, just the sac.
Actually my sac was fine at 6 weeks but then I ended up having an extra scan at 7 weeks because I was having some pain, and while the baby looks fine and has a good heartbeat the doc seemed very concerned that the border of the gestational sac had become irregular.Introduction: A small gestational sac is a structure that is first developed in the early weeks of pregnancy. Passed a clot this a.m. went for my ultrasound expecting the worst, was told there is now a 5 week 6 day fetal pole with no heart rate (not unusual for the time-line), a yolk sac, but my gestational sac is clearly misshapen.
