I had an irregular shaped gestational sac on my first scan for my first pregnancy. Sadly the doctor doing the scan said that they generally associated this with increased chance of miscarriage. The following week I was rescanned and the sac had actually become a regular shape, but there was still no heartbeat/fetal pole, just the sac.
