The fix is replacement of the shift mechanism, not the harness. The replacement shifter has an improved micro switch. One or both are likely worn and/or damaged so will need repair or replacement. I now have the issue again and unfortunately I am just outside the 3 yr 36,000 mile warranty as I bought my Acadia on 9/21/2017 and have 36,400 miles on it.3.1. Depress the actuation rod fully with your thumb or a trim stick. 3.2. Release the actuation rod by sliding your thumb or the trim stick off the rod, allowing the rod to “snap” back to the full up position. 3.3. Repeat 50 times. 4.
