The same part number when looking at it for a 2008, says it has a 1700 stall speed. Way too low. If your 2004 F150 4x4 has the 5.4L engine, the manual calls for a torque converter with a 2,404 min - 2,842 max stall speed.

I don't know about the 6R80 but on the previous models with 4R75 a converter was around $700 and installation would probably run in the neighborhood of $500-$750 depending on shop and labor rates. My guess is that for the 6R80 those prices would go up.
