12 posts · Joined 2014. #25 · Apr 3, 2014. I had this issue on my Durango with 14 miles on it. Turned out under the shifter assembly and center console, there are dual ground eyelets. Mine were not tightend to spec. Tech put on a scanner, with in 1 hour had the issue solved and tightend the eyelets to the ground bolt.
I have a ram 1500 4x4 31000 miles and I’m getting a message on my dash service transmission shut off engine to engage park service shifter anyone else having this issue or know anything about it. It also lists New part# 683600086AK and #68378743AK, although I don't know that any parts were actually updated.You can switch between 4auto, 4 lock and 2wd while driving as mentioned above. No need to switch to park unless you are going to 4lo. If you got a check engine light something is up.
