A 20% speed boost would put you leaps and bounds ahead of people who don't have the opportunity to imprint (let alone breed), and you can forget about wild dinos. It's a fairly easy way to get a tame without using narcotics and tranq arrows and traps. Kill the parent and then imprint the baby. Besides, it does add a lot of atmoshphere.
