If that did not work then would have looked into changing the solenoids that the DTC suggests. I got the flashing D while on a road trip in North Dakota. I stopped by a local AutoZone and they were able to pull the code (P1740) for me and it was for a failed 4th gear switch. Not sure why your OBD reader is not picking it up. A Honda dealer in Rushmore South Dakota replaced it for me for about $160. The part alone is about $65Now the flashing D light indicates that we have a transmission related fault being recorded by the module.
