Your saddle is automatically moved on a new mount, but this horse won't have the same bond level as the one before.

Well that sucks. I still find that removing/dropping the saddle in camp puts the saddle next to my wagon in a very awkward location. I haven’t had any issues being able to retrieve it lately. Looks like stables are the fix for now. Wish my technique would’ve proven more fruitful. Stable saddles are better because you can upgrade the stirrups and get the + speed/acceleration perks. Sadly, trapper saddles don't allow you to upgrade horns/blankets/stirrups. Stick with stable saddles if you want max horse stats. I`d also like to know. I’ve never run into a situation like this though. Your saddle should be taken to the stable if it’s ever lost. I assume you can equip any you’ve bought before.

Normal saddles have 12-18% instead of 20-26% but they can give you stirrups aswell which boost drain rate and increase handling and speed. I am currently using the crafted ones for looks only.
