Functions of Tradovate are mere fractions of NinjaTrader. Tradovate charting tools are laughable. The trend channel tool is absolute trash. I personally prefer how lightweight & simple Tradovate is. I trade with AMP through TradingView. TradingView has millions of users more than even Ninjatrader the No1 futures broker & platform.

Tradovate will lag during busy crazy events, so buyer beware. If you avoid those you should be fine. If you want to go deep down the rabbit hole, you can do anything on Sierra Chart and it is way cheaper than Ninja Trader. Be prepared to spend a good amount of time learning/setting up the software to how you like it if you go that route.

If you're especially worried about disconnects, you could use Tradingview as your platform and Tradovate as your broker. Tradovate has a decent web interface that you could employ as a fallback.
