I did fish for them at 2300 on large world, which is cavern layer by depth meter, but has grass everywhere on getfixedboi. I could NOT fish out the clowfish (quest for ocean) from my oceans. The ocean doesnt even drop regular ocean fish. Difference only in stats (more HP, a lot more contact damage) but be aware that almost every fishron attack does contact damage (for example bubbles are NPCs that deals contact damage, not projectiles).
