Back in 2019 it was not uncommon for high stat in-state kids to get between $10K-25K a year at Pitt. My S19 did. I haven't seen anything like is since. @TheVulcan kid had all the stats but did not get the Pitt merit, neither did the #2 and #3 kids in my S19's HS class. They ended up at Notre Dame and Case with better merit offers than Pitt.

Applied on 9/25 and heard back on 10/10. Accepted to Pitt main campus as a Psychology major. In state, 3.98 UW/4.03 W, 1380 SAT (submitted), 3 AP and 6 Honor classes, and decent EC's (nothing too crazy). Surprised to hear back from Pitt this early but yay!!!

Already have 1 rejection from Williams College ED I and Waitlisted today by Pitt. Crossing my fingers everywhere else gets better. Rutgers and SB are very different from Pitt in setting but they are all excellent academically. Each of them has its pros and cons. We live in suburban NJ and my student always enjoys suburban setting till we visit Pitt. Pitt is the only urban setting school that he likes. Cost is one of decision factors but not the top priority.
