Assuming Jagex is adamant about some sort of warning, we could compromise and do it Dark Souls style, where mimic chests are SLIGHTLY different looking than normal chests. Similar enough for you not to notice at first glance, but noticeable if you know what to look for. Ya, there should not be a warning for the mimic.
