Gear Grinding Fixed. I tried quite a few things (mostly cleaning and idle adjustments) to get the transmission to stop spinning at idle speeds. It has to be in the front (engine) clutch pulley, but I really didn't want to go there. I decided to make a brake for the rear pulley. It is pretty elementary but seems to work.Cut a 3" length of 1/2" unthreaded steel rod. Square off and de-burr the ends, but don't round them over. After removing the mounting bolt & washer from the end of the primary clutch, insert the rod into the crankshaft hole. My comment is that if the clutch is working properly, I would ignore it, reinstall the clutch and enjoy life with your Gator.
