If the tags were anything other than Ntag215, they may not be compatible to be read as amiibo on Nintendo Switch. So, I have my Instax Mini Link photos and my blank NFC Tags, what I needed next is an NFC writer.

If you just want Amiibo functionality, the $20 is probably going to be cheaper than the dozens of hours it'll take to scrap together a proof of concept. But it's definitely an interesting idea for a side project. To start you off, I'd suggest shelving the phone reader idea at the start.
